They are getting big!

I haven't posted in forever!! But they did something really cute today (which actually they do often, but today I just decided to write it down!) They were holding hands while drinking their bottles. Elijah was holding Noa's hand. At one point Noa was trying to let go but Elijah had a strong grip. You could tell she was trying to break free. They are so fun to watch!!
Not sure what I posted last but Noa is walking now. We declared her a walker before she hit 10 months!! She walks all over the place. Her big thing right now is to carry something and walk. The first time we notice this she was carrying a diapers box. It was empty but about the size of her. Elijah is a really fast crawler!! He has started taking a few steps to keep up with his sister. He is now taking about 4-5 steps at a time. But I think he realizes he can get places a lot faster by crawling!
Isaac turned three and we are learning how horrible the threes are!! I finally got rid of the paci!!! I threw it in the trash can. One morning he was fighting with Noa over it and being mean to her so I said that's it! And threw it away. We watch the trash men come get it and everything! He has had a hard time with it but is starting to get over it. We talked about how the trash men took it to another baby who really needed it and their mommy washed it for them. :)

Today...

We had a great day today!  We got out around 10 and were planning on feeding the ducks by Granddaddy's house but when we got there there were no ducks.  Noa and Elijah were still sleeping so Isaac and I decided to go to the park in Mt. Juliet.  We had a great time!

Isaac played on the monkey bars, played in the sand, Noa and Elijah played in the sand for the first time and ate it, and decided it didn't taste very good.  But yet continued to eat it!  I finally had to take them out of the sand!  YUCK!

They all got to swing!  Noa and Elijah shared a swing!  First time swinging.  I actually was able to take some pictures of it all too!

We then walked to Sonic to get lunch.  Isaac asked why are we going to Sonic and I said because Mommy didn't pack our lunch, why mommy? because I didn't think we would be out this long and I didn't really have time to pack before we left I was just thinking about getting out of the house!  Isaac - Oh! :)  We have officially entered the "why" stage!  Everything is "Why" now!  My favorite saying is "Why, Because" he answers himself I guess:)  We had a great lunch.  It turned out to be a little longer walk then I had thought it might be in my head...  And of course no shade...  I think they all enjoyed it more than getting in the car and driving there.

Afterwards we went over to my parents for a little bit.  Isaac took a nap in the car. (Don't worry the air was on and we have monitors so when they wake up we hear them:)!)  The twins were good entertainment while we were there!  They are getting to a great stage!  They kept fighting over toys.  Well mostly Elijah would take everything Noa had.  At one point Noa was entertaining herself by going back and forth between two toys.  It was great entertainment for us all:)

Today I have been thinking a lot about our friends' brand new baby.  She was born Saturday and they took her home and had to go back to the hospital last night.  I don't know many details at all, I just knew two things: to pray!  and that she was not breathing on her own.  This had me thinking back to what we went through with Isaac when he was first born.  I was thinking today that it is amazing how much you can love someone who you have only known for a few days, or even just a few minutes!  I remember when they were telling us all the bad news about Isaac how hard that was!!  Then I just started thinking about all the crap we had/have been through together.  How before Isaac was born I went through so many health problems and then Isaac was born and he had problems and then we were given twins... ?  And Elijah had trouble with his lungs in the beginning.  Then I started thinking about what a blessing they are and how perfect they are all now!  The twins are hard.  Very hard! But I just started thinking that God gave me two when I only expected one.  He entrusted two lives at once to me!  I was given two more children to love and watch grow when I was only expecting one.  And I'm pretty sure that it would have only been one more!  But God knew we needed two more!  That just makes me feel so special!!  And to think of all the stuff we went through to get to this point where we are now, it really seems like nothing.  Yeah in the moment, it was horrible, unbearable, but looking back now it has brought us to where we are today.  And who we are!  One bible verse that I have held on to over the pass 5 years is Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This sure has played out in my life!  Boy did he prosper me:)  Not sure my reason for blogging all this.  I think mainly for myself, so I can remind myself that life isn't about the day to day its about the lifetime of memories and where you end up!  Sometimes we get so caught up in the day to day we forget to look at the big picture!  We got word tonight before dinner that the precious little baby I had been thinking and praying for all day today, is doing really good.  They have taken her off of the ventilators, and they said all their prayers have been answered!  We still don't have many details but we are still praying for this little girl and I just keep praying that she turns out as perfect as my three who all came into this world as miracles!!!  God is so GOOD!!

Thursday nights

Thursdays are very different now. Jay's job changed recently and with that his hours changed. They are a lot better than they initially started out but still not great. He works everyday 8-4:30 except Thursdays he works 1-9pm. He doesn't like his new position at all which is no good. Working is never fun and it's even worse when you don't like what you do. Anyway, so he is home in the mornings on thursdays which has been nice! It gives us a chance to get a few things done. But then I have to put the kids to bed by myself. And that's no fun! Most Thursdays my dad has been coming to help me but tonight he didn't feel good so he stayed home.
Well things went pretty well. The twins took a little power nap around 5:00 so that allowed me to get dinner ready for me and Isaac. Then we all had dinner together. I fed the twins some squash. Elijah kept coughing like he had something caught in his throat. And kept acting like he was going to throw up. Well after a while he did. It wasn't too bad of a mess because he was in his high chair so it just all went on his tray and him. Well they all needed baths anyway so this just made the decision final. So I attempted to give them all a bath. I left the twins in the high chairs while I got everything ready. Then I put everyone in the bathroom and shut the door. Isaac is great in the tub!! So he just gets in and does his thing. I started with Elijah since he was covered in puke. Do you remember me mentioning that my children don't sit still, well that's in the tub too!! I have a little seat that they can sit up in which helps a little. Elijah was climbing out of it though trying to get soap and all isaac's toys. At the same time Noa was trying to climb in the tub to get isaac's toys also. So I get Elijah out and trying to get him dressed as Noa is still trying to climb in the tub. Head first I might add. So now it's Noa's turn. So now Noa is climbing out of the chair and Elijah is trying to climb in the tub. At one point they were both about to go head first into the water. As Isaac is laying flat in the tub spinning in circles. Oh yeah in the middle of all this i thought i heard someone in the house. So when I got Elijah out I ran through and locked all the doors! So finally I get everyone out, safely I might add, and get every in their pjs! WHEW!!!!
I started getting everyone in bed. Started Isaac a movie in our room and he laid down. Got Noa a bottle and started trying to get her to sleep as Elijah is crawling all over the two of us. Finally I just laid in bed with all three and the twins fell asleep. Got them in their beds and got to go lay down with Isaac. Right before he feel asleep I was hugging him and telling him how much I loved him. I told him "I'm sorry it's so crazy sometimes" and he said "I'm sorry too!" So cute!! I love that little boy!!!
Goodnight:-)

Communicating

The twins have started communicating to each other. It's really cute! They just mumble back and forth and sometimes Elijah screams a little. I can just imagine what they are saying... Noa: "I'm hungry" Elijah: "just be patient. Mom is putting Isaac down for a nap. She'll be back in a min. And all attention on us!" Noa: "well I'm tired and hungry. I hope she feeds me first so I can go to sleep" Elijah: "me too! Then I'll get all the attention to myself!"
Haha. Then later I was trying to get Noa to sleep and Elijah was crawling on her pulling her hair everything. They are so funny!!!

Abby

So Abby is Isaac's new imaginary friend.  It is so cute and funny to hear him talk about her.  So showed up one night after riding in Granddaddy's truck.  My dad, Jay and Isaac went down to Murfreesboro to look at some patio furniture.  On the way back Jay texted me and said that Isaac was just talking and talking and was not stopping.  When he got home he continued to talk.  We soon discovered he was talking to Abby.  When I asked him where Abby was he said, "right here" as he shrugged his shoulders and pointed.  Like duh mom don't you see her...  He continued to tell me all about Abby.  Her parents were at the store. She has two babies, a brother and sister like him.  She has a backpack that carries everything she could ever need!  She usually is wearing pink and/or princesses.  Abby goes to school with Isaac.  One day his teacher said he didn't nap the whole naptime he was talking to Abby.  The next day during naptime at home he came out several times to tell me what Abby was doing or what she needed.  The other day Isaac was riding in granddaddy's truck and Isaac was talking so granddaddy was answering him and talking back.  Well Isaac told him to quit talking to him he was talking to Abby.  It is so funny!!  Abby has been good and bad.  When he doesn't want to do something if we tell him Abby is doing it then he usually does it.  But when Abby kept Isaac from taking a nap two days in a row...  it was time for Abby to go home for the night.
One night he was sitting around talking on his phone.  He loves to call people on his phone and talk and talk!!  Well he was talking to Abby about coming over.  Jay's friend Don was on his way over so we told Don to "pick up" Abby on his way here and told Isaac that Don was bringing Abby with him.  Well, when Don got here with Abby Isaac stood at the door as disappointment rose on his face we realized that he was expecting a real Abby.  So we had to explain that Don brought Abby.  So then there was the other Abby.  Who we are guessing is real...  I found out that there is an Abby in his class at school.  I have asked him several times if the other Abby is from school but he says she isn't.  But imaginary Abby lives on.  She eats with us and sleeps with us.  Showers with us and has to be buckled in when we go places.  It is great!!  I love that he has such a wonderful imagination!!!

Busy Week

Well, I felt like I had to get on here and post something!  I've been thinking about it a lot.  So much has been going on it is so hard to find time to get on here and post stuff.  We stay pretty busy!  The twins are now 7 months old.  They are all over the place!!  They are both crawling and Noa has been pulling up for over a week now.  Elijah just started over the past few days pulling up. They are movers!!  I guess I just have very acive children!  I was at a friends house the other day and their 7 month old was just siting...  I said I didn't know babies could just sit!  Mine never have.  Elijah actually started crawling before he ever sat up.  I came home and told Jay, did you know that there is actually a stage where babies just SIT!?!?!!  None of our children have ever done that!  We got a "play yard" its a fence in the living room to keep them in.  They hate it, but at least we have a place to put them if we have to do something for a little bit.  They have no reason to hate it.  All their toys are in there.  The only time they seem to like it is if we are in there with them, or if they are in a perfect mood! Not hungry, not tired, not poopy, thats pretty much never... ha.  Elijah had his first tooth break through Thursday night.  We went to the MTSU game. Well, let me just tell you about our most 2 active days, probably ever!!

Wednesday I decided to take them all to the zoo.  We have a zoo membership and I hate to just waste it.  The temperatures are starting to go down a little so I thought why not.  Its either sit at home and listen to them all whine about being in the play yard or get out and do something!!  So I decided to get out!  They all fell asleep on the way there.  Which was good because I was able to get there and get everything ready to go in without screaming kids.  So I figured out the best way to travel through the zoo by yourself with 3 kids.  I'm sure most people don't even attempt this!  We have a side by side double stroller, like an umbrella stroller x2.  So I was able to hook the wagon handle around the handle of the stroller.  So all I had to do was push the stroller and it pulled the wagon.  It was quite ingenious and I got A LOT of compliments on it!!  A lot of people told me I was a super mom:)  That made me feel good.  They were probably thinking in their head "insane super mom"... ha:)

We started our zoo trip to see the elephants and giraffes.  I learned to start here first or you don't make it.  There is a huge hill to get up to them so if you go at the end you are way too exhausted to get up that hill.  So I started our zoo visit pushing the double stroller pulling the wagon up this huge hill!!  Talk about a good workout!!  Only to get up there and the elephants weren't even out yet!! They need a sign at the bottom of the hill that says, "don't bother climbing this hill yet, you aren't going to see what you want to..." ha:)  Luckily the giraffes were out!!

Isaac had a blast!  He road the carousel by himself (well with Abey, see post "Abey") while the twins and I watched.  The twins seemed to have a good time until we got in the never ending loop!  There is this one loop in the zoo that I can never seem to get out of, and I always seem to be in the middle of it when someone or all of them get tired.  This time Elijah started fussing and Isaac wanted one of those character drinks.  And told me about 100 times that he wanted one before we got out of the loop.  We finally got out and had lunch.  Everyone was in great spirits during lunch!  Then we headed home shortly after.   I was so sore that night!!

The Flamingos!
Lunch

Yes, this is Noa trying to stand up in the wagon!
All of us at the zoo. If you look real close you can see the top of Elijah's head!

So then on Thursday, Isaac had school.  That morning Jay was home because he has a new schedule now and on Thursdays he works from 1pm - 9:30pm.  We aren't loving it but it is nice to have him home a little during the day!  We didn't do much just took Isaac to school and ran a few errands.  We had plans when Isaac got out of school to go over to his friends and go swimming.  So we went over there and all swam.  The twins love the water!  And Isaac really loves it! Sometimes I'm afraid too much!  The pool wasn't crowded at all so that was nice.  At one point Isaac was jumping in this float, kind of like flipping back.  He was having a blast but making me a little nervous.  I told him to be careful.  I was feeding Elijah during this also.  I was about to take a picture because he was having so much fun.  Well right then he jumped back a little too far and flipped in the water.  I jumped up to get him.  By the time I got to him he was already standing and ok.  He was pretty upset though.  It definitely scared him!  He wanted to go home after that.  Luckily another lady was there with her daughter who had a bunch of toys there and she invited him over to play tea party.  He was all about that! And was back in the water before long!  But not doing any more flips.

Well, after the pool I decided to head down to Murfreesboro for the first MTSU football game of the season.  My parents were going.  Jay had to work late so I figured why not...  I almost turned around and went back home before I even got there.  Elijah screamed pretty much the whole way down.  Then when I got there I had a parking pass for the closest parking lot, which was full.  I'm thinking you've got to be kidding me!!  Luckily, they just opened another one not too much farther away.  So I found that before I lost my mind and went home.  It didn't go too bad, and we actually made it to half time!!  Isaac again had a blast!!!  And they were all so stinkin' cute in their MTSU gear!!
Isaac hung out with my parents while I juggled the twins (with help from my mom and some others).  I decided that Isaac is why I do all this craziness!  I want to entertain him as much as possible and I know it isn't much fun being cooped up in the house with the twins so I try to get out with him as much as possible.  And we have fun, that's all that matters!  Well, Elijah then cried the whole way home.  Remember when I mentioned earlier that Elijah had his first tooth come in.  We got home and they all went to bed pretty easily.  Jay was home to help also!

This is the end of half time.
Isaac is watching the band as I am loading up the twins.
Ginger (mother of triplet!) is helping me keep them happy:)

So yes all this in two days!!  Friday, my dad took Isaac for a few hours for me so I could go grocery shopping.  I had Noa in the shopping cart and Elijah in the pack on front of me.  It surprisingly went really well.  I finished about the time they started getting restless.  I had one lady tell me, "you are good at what you do!  I don't think I could do that"  :)  That made me feel good.  Better than the people who say, "you are crazy"!  Ok not many come out and say that but you sure can read it on their faces!!

Had to post this!

It's no wonder I don't keep up with my blog as much as I would like. But I just had to post this tonight because it's priceless and I know one day I will want to remember this...
So tonight we are getting ready for bed. I had just fed Elijah, Jay was putting Noa to sleep and me, Isaac and Elijah are playing in the play area. (We now have a big gate in the middle of the living room to keep the twins in! They are moving now so the only way I can keep them contained was to get a fence! So we have a big play yard, I believe that's what it's called! This is to keep them from getting into things that they don't need to get into! Or so I thought...) I was working on the computer and Elijah was entertaining himself while Isaac was singing really loud and doing flips or something trying to burn off some energy before bed. Well Elijah comes over and starts crawling on my legs. Then he starts coughing and I notice at that point that something is in his mouth. So I reach in to get it because he seems to almost be choking. And it's a bandaid!!!! One of isaac's that must have come off or something. The good thing is Isaac just puts bandaids on for no reason, so it probably was not one that had covered a wound, but still... So once I got the bandaid out of his mouth he just starts vomitting all over me!!!! So I'm sitting there holding Elijah, as Isaac is watching all this, covered in puke. I start trying to quietly trying to yell for jay because I knew he was trying to get Noa to sleep. I finally got Isaac to go "whisper" to him that Elijah just threw up and I needed his help. It worked and Jay came in and we, all 3, me, Elijah, and Isaac got in the shower. No Isaac did not get thrown up on. He just loves taking showers with us;)

Its been FOREVER!

Well its late and I probably should go to bed but I was just on a friends blog and realized how long it had been since I posted something.  I'm sitting here holding Elijah.  No they are not sleeping through the night yet.  I think it is harder with two because we can't use the 'ole cry it out method because they will wake the other one up so we pretty much go running in as soon as they make a peep and try to do whatever to get them back to sleep.  Not that we are good at the cry it out method anyway;) It never worked that great with Isaac.  We are both weak and just give in:)  They will be 7 months next week!  So hard to believe they are getting so big!  I ordered some pictures the other day from their 8 day old photo shoot.  It was so good to look back!  I barely remember those days!!  Makes me sad!  Its all pretty much a blur...  Guess I should go back and read my blog now:)

They are doing great and moving all over!!  Noa is sitting up perfectly!  She mostly gets around by siting up and falling over, then rolling or scooting where she wants to be.  She has been pulling up on things lately and trying to stand up.  Crazy!!  Elijah isn't sitting up yet but he is a mover!!  He can army crawl anywhere he needs to be!  Yesterday I was on the back porch with Isaac getting him set up in his little pool when Elijah comes crawling out the back door!  Got to watch that boy!!

They have started eating a few solids.  Bananas, peas, avocado, and squash.  Elijah is a great eater.  Noa is catching on:)  She likes to spit it out a lot!

Here are a few pictures Melissa took when we went to the lake with the Weber's.  Isaac was totally not interested!!

Our streak of bad luck...

We are in the middle of everything going wrong!! I was just thinking of all the things that have gone wrong lately and I thought it would be great to write it all down so one day I can look back and laugh. Or say, oh that's why we are in debt!!! Let's see it started when our septic messed up. I think I wrote about that already. (see "what a mess" April 14). So after that happened, our garage door broke because the plumber guy left the air pump in front of it so when jay went to open it the garage door bent all up. Then our lawn mower broke. It runs but the blades don't go down to cut the grass. Kind of important! Isaac has 7 cavities My mac crashed. Luckily I didn't loss everything (well I hope not, still waiting on that). Oh yes, and today, jay borrowed our neighbors lawn mower to cut our grass since ours is broken. And yes he broke it. He kind of fixed it so that's good. We went to Chuck E. Cheese tonight just to give isaac a little treat and the power went out while we were there. I'm scared to think of what could come next!! Hopefully we are due for some good luck to sprinkle on us!!!

Another Roll

Noa rolled over tonight. She has been trying even before Elijah was and I was for sure she would roll over first but he surprised me. She was actually reaching for isaac's train and rolled over to get it. She loves grabbing and holding things!! I put her in the bouncey thing that hangs from the doorway today. She enjoyed that a lot too.
Isaac wanted to go to the park today so we went to the outlets where there is a playground there. Jay wanted to go there. It was good because the twins could be in the ac while Isaac played on the playground. It was hot!!!! As we were walking to the playground we passed childrens place. Isaac saw all the clothes and I think I said that's where they have your clothes. Well we played a little bit on the playground until he got too hot I guess because he said I want to go see isaac's clothes. So we went in childrens place and he picked out a whole outfit for himself. Shoes and all. And he picked something out for the twins too! He was really cute.
We are working on no paci!! Let's hope I can stick with it!! It helped that we have lost them all and we couldn't find any. I'll let you know how it goes!!

So lesson learned...

Don't expect to get two babies asleep outside when it's 90 (ok it was probably only 85) degrees. Plus humidity!! :). And I'm sure the loud music didn't help either.

At one point I was thinking camping would be a fun get away. I'm rethinking that now!!!

Sometimes it's just time to go!

We'll start with last night... Isaac spent the night with Whitney. It was great. Of course the twins didn't sleep all night but it was at least a relaxing evening before they woke up! Then this morning Jennie offered for Isaac to come over. She already had plans to watch Drew. So I had the whole morning with just the twins. Made me realize that yes, having twins first is easier!!! But on the other hand I wouldn't trade the time alone we had with Isaac for ANYTHING!! Anyway, it was still a crazy morning but we finally got out and tried to look for a father's day gift. Not successful. Went to Jennie's and picked up Isaac and Drew!! Whitney was helping all day setting up for Relay for Life. So he came to chill with us rather than be out in the 90 degree heat!! Thankful isaac took a long nap. Drew and I watched a movie and hung out with the twins.
Oh yes I must mention that while we were at Jennie's Isaac came up to Elijah while I was holding him and hugged him and said, "My missed you" Adorable!!! I said "did you tell Noa that too?" he said "yes". I said "did you miss mom?" he said "no" "did you miss dad?" "no" I said "well we didn't miss you either" ;) I thought that was so funny!!
So Isaac finally wakes up and he is very attached to mommy and wants me to hold him constantly! I finally decide we just have to go!! Of course I have to stop at walmart and get formula.
We finally get to Relay for Life and I have enough stuff to stay for the whole weekend! I loaded up the wagon and stroller. Drew pulled Isaac in the wagon while I pushed the stroller. Until we got to the grass and it was too hard for drew to push. So at this point I'm pushing the stroller and pulling the wagon. A lady walking behind us said, "I think we are going to the same place can I help you?" of course I took her up on her offer!! We get there and Isaac found the bouncy thing and him and drew had a blast!!! I fed the babies one at a time. Elijah fell asleep on Troy's chest. So cute!! Then it started... Elijah started to get upset. I think he just got hot. And I couldn't cool him down enough in the 90 degree heat!! Then Noa started. I said I think it's time to go now. I get everything loaded up and Troy is helping me to the car. Isaac wants to go play on the bouncy thing again and Troy tells him no. So he starts crying. So all three babies are crying as I'm leaving the park. Crazy!! We finally get everything loaded. Elijah continued to cry the whole way home. All the way to the red light right before our house. Thn he finally fell asleep. I got them all in with all our junk! And got them all in bed. Whew! What a night!!!!

Rolling...

Well Elijah rolled over yesterday. It's funny because he can roll over to his stomach but he hasn't gotten rolling back very well. He has done it a few times but most the time he rolls over to his stomach and gets frustrated that he can't roll back over.
Last night was horrible. Isaac was up all night throwing up. So today I've been exhausted. And it's been constant. Everyone is napping now so I'm going to try to go nap too!!!

Naptime

I'm sitting here with two babies in diapers (only) laying on me. It's so cute!! I was nursing Elijah and Noa was fussing so I was trying to calm her down so I started to nurse her and she feel asleep before she ever got any milk. And Elijah feel asleep soon after. They are so adorable laying on me!! Isaac is in the bedroom sleeping. He woke up earlier screaming but must have been a dream or night terror bc I kept telling him to come in here and he never did. So all 3 are asleep but I'm tied down and can't do anything! I'm scared to move or they will wake up. I keep trying to nap myself but I'm too uncomfortable;)
The summer has officially begun. Today was isaac's last day of mothers day out:( but I'm excited about this summer and all the great things we can all do together!!! Last summer I was pregnant and miserable!! This summer I hope will be lots better!!!

Mother's Day

I had a fabulous Mother's day because I have a fabulous husband!!!! It started Friday night. Jay kept the kids and let me go out. Sarah B. and I went to the Frist center. They were having a free night because of the flood. Then we went and ate Mexican. We had a wonderful evening. At the end of the evening we were talking about how we got away last year for mothers day. I said who would have known this mothers day that I would have 3 kids!!! Saturday morning jay had to do stuff around the house so I took the kids out. Mt. Juliet had a huge yard sale at the park so we went to that. Isaac pushed Elijah in the stroller and I carried Noa. It wasn't long before they got hungry. I got Isaac the worse snow cone ever made. They packed the ice so hard he couldn't eat it. I went back to the car to feed the babies. We just sat in the parking lot and I fed the babies while Isaac ate his snow cone. He dumpped some of his blue snow cone in the stroller. We soon left. I had Isaac in his car seat in the back and I was putting the twins in. I looked back at Isaac and he was just sitting there in his seat. He must have given me a smile or something because it just made me smile. I looked at him for a while and I thought to myself, "this is all worth it!!" just to see a little human that you created that is so perfect! That is what makes being a mom so great. I remember when I was little and I think she still does. My mom would just look at me and say I love you! I would always be polite and say I love you too:) don't get me wrong I did love her;) but I never knew why just out of no where she would say it. Now I understand!! And I find myself always saying it now to my kids. Saturday night we all went over to the Webers and had a great time!! Sunday we all slept in until 9:15!! Jay and I got everyone ready for church and Jay took them all early so I could get ready alone. That was great!!! Of course I was late though. For Mother's Day Jay asked me what I wanted. I told him a flower for each child;) and chocolates if he had to get me something else. So Sunday morning he gave me a huge bag of chocolate. Then when I got to my parents he had picked three roses for me! Then monday I got a package in the mail. He had gotten Mary Helen (a good friend of ours who makes jewlry) to make me a necklace special for mothers day!! It is beautiful!!! I love it!!!! So that is my great mothers day story!!!!

Rain, rain go away.

Well it's been the big flood of Nashville. We got out yesterday in the crazy mess! Once we got everyone loaded in the car in the pouring rain we didn't want to take them out. No matter how bad it was!! Once we all got in the car we went to home depot because jay realized that the plumbers left something undone and water was pouring in our crawl space. Luckily we have a big crawl space. So we have a river under our house but nothing in the house! So we are thankful for that!! Although new carpet would be nice! ;)
So we left to go to Murfreesboro for Kathleen's birthday party at bounce u. We left really early so we could get a present. So after jay spent forever in the pouring rain trying to fix the house and all the kids were sleeping in the car we finally headed down to Murfreesboro as the twins started screaming. So we finally het to the party place and we were early so we decided to go in because the babies were screaming and hungry. The employees were very nice and helped us in. We weren't in there for 2 min when Lori calls and cancels the party. Tornado warnings were around their house. So I ask the guy how much it would cost to let Isaac bounce for a little bit. He said they just had a party and he coud just go in there and bounce some. A few of the girls who worked there held Elijah. They loved it!! And he did too. He was flirting. Cooing and laughing at them. It was really cute!! Isaac had the whole room to himself to bounce. He loved it!! We then went over to lee and alexis' for a little bit to calm the babies. We finally headed home arond 7.
Today we have stayed home all day!!! I've actually gotten a little down today!! It's been a good day. Hopefully the sun will be out tomorrow!!!!

Doctor and Walmart

I took all three to the doctor today. Noa was screaming last night and pulling at her ear. Isaac has had a cough forever and Elijah is congested. So I figured I would just get them all checked out since I would have to take them all anyway. Well Noa has an ear infection. But on the ear she isn't pulling on. Hmmmm... Isaac just has bad allergies. And Elijah is fine. I put a humidifier in their room so hopefully that will help!! We. Shall see.

Then we all went to walmart. I think the next time I'm crazy enough to take them all out again, which will probably be soon because I'm crazy like that, I'm going to count how many people say oh wow you have your hands full!!! Everyone has to comment. Which I do love the attention but I really think the novalty of having twins makes things take twice as long. Not to mention just the fact of having two babies slows everything down!! And man I'm starting to think half the world is made up of twins! If they don't have twins then they know someone who does and they tell me all about it;) which I do get some good advice;)

Some days

Some days are a lot worse than others. This morning was one of those days. Isaac is getting to a phase where he wants to be held all the time. I don't know if it's because he isn't feeling good or because he has been so tired lately. Probably a combination. It's getting old though and I can't handle it. This morning everyone was crying. And I think they just all wanted attention. I just don't know how to divide my attention between them all. And I'm sure it's only going to get harder. I was late taking Isaac to school. And there was no way I was packing a lunch so he got a sonic corn dog for lunch. He was happy!! After I got him to school I just sat in the van on the Lebanon square and fed Elijah. Noa slept. I was going to just drive around but Elijah was screaming so I figured I better feed him.
Then I decided I would go get them weighed just curious how much they weigh now. Noa weighs 9 lb. 8 oz. and Elijah weighs 9 lbs. 4 oz. That's how much I weighed when I was born!! I love having little babies!! As long as they are healthy:) and they are!!!

The twins are three months old today. We went to the outlets in Lebanon and got them some new outfits with money their great nana sent them!! They had to have some cute outfits for their 3-month photo shoot!! Although I still had to buy newborn size. Three months clothes still look so big. It won't be long though!!! They are getting so big!!!

Atlanta

This past weekend we made our first big trip. We went down to Atlanta so my grandmother could meet the twins. We had a wonderful visit. We left Thursday and drove to Chattanooga and spent the night with Mary. Then got up Friday morning and headed to Atlanta. It was good we broke up the trip. Noa didn't enjoy traveling to well. She did great for the first hour then would fuss for a little. I usually could get her calmed down for the rest of the trip. We stayed with my aunt and had a wonderful visit!! I will post some photos.

What a mess...

Things have been pretty good on the baby end. Jay's family was in town last week. Thursday thru Monday. It was his mom (who is from PA) his brother (from CA) and his daughter - 9 (almost 10) and son - 6. We had a good time with them. We stayed very busy!! Friday we went to the zoo. Saturday we had a picnic at an outlook over nashville. Then went to centinial park then to the opryland hotel. Sunday we pulled weeds at a school for church - Worship Without Walls. Then went for a hike at couchville lake. Monday before they left we went to Don Fox park. You know it's a good park when you drive in and the kids in the back yell "WOW" :) Then I took them to the airport.

So the big mess... The day before all our company arrived my dad and Jay noticed that our back yard was very soggy. Seems that our septic tank was leaking or full or something. So my dad calls his plumber to come over to take a look. A few years ago they put a sewer line in at our house. We have been avoiding connecting because we knew how much it would cost. Well we decided to go ahead with it since we were going to have to do something anyway. Well my dad's plumber said he could do it for us. To make a really long story short. He messed it all up and left the job when he hit rock and left a huge trench in our front yard. We now have someone else on the job who knows what they are doing!! And they are close to finished!!! A week and a half later... We are around $6000 into this project. Ugh!! The last thing we needed.

Wonderful Husband

I just woke up and it's 4am. I went to bed around 9:30. I must have been out because I didn't hear a thing last night. When I first woke up I was wondering if the babies had been sleeping this whole time. Well since I was up figured ivwould go ahead and pump. I noticed there was a bottle out for Noa and one in the fridge for Elijah. Jay must have been up with both of them. Not sure when he was ip but I never heard a thing!!! He is so wonderful to just get up with them and let me sleep!!! Hopefully he wasn't up all night!!

We cleaned house last night. We had to have the putmans over to watch the twins while we cleaned. Noa screamed most the time. We finally got her calmed down. Good thing they were here we would have gotten nothing done!!

Happy Easter!!

We had a great Easter weekend.  We went to the church Easter egg hunt yesterday and Isaac had a great time hunting eggs, bouncing in the bounce thing and seeing the Easter Bunny.  We had their picture all made with the Easter Bunny.   All the youth took turns holding the twins, so I had a little break to just walk around and visit:)

Today we went to church and then had lunch over at the Simpson's.  Isaac and Drew got to hunt more Easter eggs.  They had a blast.  Isaac was so tired though.  Elijah is breaking out in a rash.  At first we thought it might be a heat rash but it isn't on the parts that they say it typically is.  He has it all over his arms and legs.  We talked to his doctor and she thinks it might be a rare rash.  She was going to ask her dermatologist friend.  I sent her a picture text so she could see what it looked like.  I love our pediatrician!  She is great!  So he was up half the night last night and you could just tell he was miserable!  Poor guy!!  Noa seems to be doing a little better.  She is still pretty fussy though.  Maybe we are just getting better at knowing what she wants:)

So today since everyone was nicely dressed up all I wanted was a family picture of all of us.  My mom wanted one of all the kids.  When we got to the Simpson's Drew had already changed clothes.  Mama bribed him to change back.  So he changed and then Isaac was in a mood so he would not sit and have his picture made for anything.  So we got Drew with the twins.  By this time both the twins had gotten upset so they were both screaming.

This is a picture of the twins in their Easter outfits.  My mom got them for them and it wasn't an easy task:)  She actually got them outfits to wear on Easter before they were born.  Last week we realized that they were size 3 month and the twins are still wearing newborn clothes.  So she went looking for something else.  She found these matching outfits but she had to drive to Cool Springs to get the other one.  Crazy!!

I was able to get a picture of me and Isaac.  We actually got a good one.

Then I decided ok if I got one of me and Isaac I can just get one of me and the twins.  So Elijah was alseep so I thought I would try it.  Well Isaac came up so we tried for all three.  This is what we got...  It actually captures my life perfectly!!!  :)

Happy Easter!!  :)

Good Friday

It was truly a good Friday!! The twins slept good Thursday night. Or were at least on a good schedule!! Noa slept from around 11 to 5:30 or so. Elijah was up once throughout the night but I fed him and he went right back to sleep. When they both woke up they were in good moods and ate well!! I was able to feed them on the porch as Isaac played. It ed so nice out!! We loaded up and headed to Charlie Daniels park. We were meeting my sister and Drew. Drew had a friend who was having a birthday party. They invited us to come too!! So we headed to the park and got a free lunch! Isaac got to play and everyone else got to hold the twins while I ate;) we came home and I couldn't get Isaac to nap. Jay got off work early. Then my parents came over to watch all the kids while jay and I went out!! We went out with Melissa and Chris for Melissa's birthday. We headed down to Murfreesboro and ate at Chuy's. It was really good! My parents said Noa screamed most the night :( poor thing!! By the time we got home they were feeding the twins and Isaac was asleep. We put the twins down and Noa slept until 5:30 this morning. Elijah was up once throughout the night. What a great Good Friday!!

Picnic

Well all morning I just wanted to go on a picnic. We all slept until 7:30. Noa slept a little longer. She is my sleeper in;) once they started eating they couldn't stop. It felt like they ate from 7:30 until 10:30. Then they were ready to eat again at 11:30. Between bottles, diapers and screaming I was able to pack our lunch, pump some milk, and get dressed. Finally I just put them in car seats and left. They were screaming. The minute I walked outside they stopped crying. Isaac didn't want to get in his seat. He wanted to drive. So we had to have a little chat. All loaded up and headed to park and Isaac fell asleep about 2 min out. Of course!! So I sat at the park in the car for a little bit before I woke Isaac up. We had our picnic and it was great!! Isaac played on the playground. I got a lot of looks and several people saying you have your hands full!! I just smiled and said yep!! :) Of course I parked on the other end of the playground so I had to carry Isaac and Noa was in my wrap pouch thing and push the stroller across the whole park!

Getting better??

It seems that the no dairy might be working. She is still fussing some but not as bad. I don't want to speak to soon though. Jay had a hard time getting her to sleep though. I was on Isaac duty. He wanted me to come to bed with him. So I had to get him to sleep. When I got up around midnight to feed Elijah Jay was sleeping with Noa in Isaac's room. (Isaac sleeps in our room) We shall see...

Fussy Baby

Well I haven't been keeping up with the blog that well lately. But everyday I think of what I could say on my blog I just don't have a chance to write it;)
Well we are starting to think Noa has colic. She cries a lot!!! The medicine doesn't seem to make that big of difference now. It might help her a little right after she takes it but that's it. When I looked up colic baby online the discription fit her to a tee. I am going to give up dairy and see if that helps any. Since Isaac is allergic it might be worth trying for her. Plus I read that cutting out dairy helps colic babies. We will see. Tonight we thought it was already working. It was around 5 and she wasn't screaming. Which usually it's like clock work. She took a bottle great and was doing good. Then it hit... It was probably around 6. We all got in the car and went to walmart. She fell asleep and slept through most our walmart journey. Then near the end she started. I could easily find jay in the store just follow Noa's cry;( we got her calmed down while Isaac ate a hamburger. She then cried the whole way home. I finally got her to sleep half way through Lost;) I missed the first half though because she was screaming.
Today I had to come home after I took Isaac to school and take a shower. I was hoping they would just stay asleep in their carriers while I showered. Noa started fussing so I fed her to try to calm her. I could not calm her. I finally had to call Kim to save me. She came right over and held her while I showered. It took most of my shower time for Kim to get her calm and finally asleep. Of course Elijah just slept in the Moses basket through my entire shower. I was thinking today that I guess this would be just as hard if I just had one colicy baby. Thank goodness only one is colic!!! I can't imagine if both were.
Yesterday Sarah Lou came over and helped. The boys played, well sort of, and we got some cleaning done until they both started fussing (the babies that is). It was great to have her here! I'm starting to realize that I can do this by myself it just makes it a lot easier on me if I do have help!! Last week I went the whole week by myself. I realized then that I still need help and that this is hard. Really HARD!!! I'm making it though day by day. I hear it does get easier. They say between 3 and 4 months colic goes away so if that's what it is we can hope for that soon. Another 2 months.
I remember saying when they were about 2 weeks old. I'm sure glad I have such great babies!! I can't imagine why God would give someone with twins a colic baby. Oh my I guess I'm eating my words now. Thanks God! I'm sure you are somehow making us stronger through this. Just haven't figured out why or how yet!! ;)
