Fussy Baby

Well I haven't been keeping up with the blog that well lately. But everyday I think of what I could say on my blog I just don't have a chance to write it;)
Well we are starting to think Noa has colic. She cries a lot!!! The medicine doesn't seem to make that big of difference now. It might help her a little right after she takes it but that's it. When I looked up colic baby online the discription fit her to a tee. I am going to give up dairy and see if that helps any. Since Isaac is allergic it might be worth trying for her. Plus I read that cutting out dairy helps colic babies. We will see. Tonight we thought it was already working. It was around 5 and she wasn't screaming. Which usually it's like clock work. She took a bottle great and was doing good. Then it hit... It was probably around 6. We all got in the car and went to walmart. She fell asleep and slept through most our walmart journey. Then near the end she started. I could easily find jay in the store just follow Noa's cry;( we got her calmed down while Isaac ate a hamburger. She then cried the whole way home. I finally got her to sleep half way through Lost;) I missed the first half though because she was screaming.
Today I had to come home after I took Isaac to school and take a shower. I was hoping they would just stay asleep in their carriers while I showered. Noa started fussing so I fed her to try to calm her. I could not calm her. I finally had to call Kim to save me. She came right over and held her while I showered. It took most of my shower time for Kim to get her calm and finally asleep. Of course Elijah just slept in the Moses basket through my entire shower. I was thinking today that I guess this would be just as hard if I just had one colicy baby. Thank goodness only one is colic!!! I can't imagine if both were.
Yesterday Sarah Lou came over and helped. The boys played, well sort of, and we got some cleaning done until they both started fussing (the babies that is). It was great to have her here! I'm starting to realize that I can do this by myself it just makes it a lot easier on me if I do have help!! Last week I went the whole week by myself. I realized then that I still need help and that this is hard. Really HARD!!! I'm making it though day by day. I hear it does get easier. They say between 3 and 4 months colic goes away so if that's what it is we can hope for that soon. Another 2 months.
I remember saying when they were about 2 weeks old. I'm sure glad I have such great babies!! I can't imagine why God would give someone with twins a colic baby. Oh my I guess I'm eating my words now. Thanks God! I'm sure you are somehow making us stronger through this. Just haven't figured out why or how yet!! ;)

It's been a while

Well I haven't posted for a few days. As you can see I got out Saturday night and took our youth to the predators game. Jay is great about trying to get me out when he can. We had a great time! My whole family came over and helped jay out while I was at the game.
Elijah and Noa will take turns getting up now at night. We are learning that at least one of them will stay up until midnight. It never fails you get them both down and get in bed yourself and your back up in a few minutes. So right now I'm holding Noa just waiting her out;) Elijah is in bed. Once they are down though they usually sleep pretty good. Until about 5am.
This morning they did really good. Isaac and I got up first. Then Elijah woke up. I got him fed and settled before Noa woke up. I never wanted to get them off the same schedule but now it's easier for them to be a little separated. When I'm by myself it's easier to feed them one at a time while Isaac is here. They still pretty much sleep at the same times so that's good!
Today we all 4 laid down for a good 2-hour nap. It was great!! Tomorrow Isaac goes back to school!!!! And I have to take the twins for their 2-month checkup.

Minus one

So my sister took Isaac to spend the night. We were hoping to get a little time together. Well that didn't happen. Noa was very fussy. They took turns all night fussing. So we both finally just passed out. We are feeding them now. Seems like they hopefully will go back down easily.

Catching up.

I forgot to mention that they weighed the twins and Noa weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and Elijah weighed 7 lbs 9 oz!!! He is finally catching up to her!! Lately he has been eating a ton and she hasn't been eating as much. I think because she hasn't felt very good. She has been eating like half of what he does. So Elijah is chunking up!! ;)
Oh yeah and while we were at the doctor on Monday, Elijah rolled over!! I had him laying on his tummy on the exam table and he rolled over to his back. They are growing up!!
I had two of our youth come over yesterday and help all day while they were out for spring break. It was great to have four extra hands!! They just held the babies while I got to get some stuff done around the house. It was great having them here!! Thanks Ally and Haley!! :-)

The follow up

Noa seems to be doing a little better. They said her wheezing sounded better today. She hasn't been coughing as much tonight. So hopefully the treatments are working and she is getting better!
Elijah's test results came back and showed his bilirubin count was slightly elevated. He was at a 10. They said it is called breastmilk jaundice. They aren't going to do any treatment. They are just going to watch his levels. We go back next week for their 2 month check up. They will check again then.

Back to doctor

Well I took Noa and Elijah to the doctor yesterday. Noa's cough is really bad. I started hearing her wheez Sunday night. At the doctors office her wheezing was really bad. They had her do a breathing treatment while we were there. It did help clear her up some so they sent us home with a penguin nebulizer for Noa. Isaac has the panda one. So we currently have two children on breathing treatments. Noa has to do hers every 4 hrs and Isaac 3 times a day right now. While we were there I had Elijah's billi Ruben checked. So they had to draw his blood. Poor guy he was just along for the ride, he thought;) We go back today. The doctor wanted me to bring Noa back so they can listen and see if she is any better or getting worse. She doesn't sound much better. :( Elijah now sounds like he is getting a touch of it too. They said it was a virus like maybe brocholis (not sure how to spell it, but the baby form of bronchitis.) He mentioned RSV too. But he didn't say that's what it was. Guess we'll find out more today. Noa is sleeping good she just is very fussy when she is awake and you can tell she doesn't feel good. Jay is staying home from work today because he is starting to feel bad. Ugh!! I just hope I can stay well!!!!

So I was thinking yesterday about my day and what all goes on so here is what I came up with: Enjoy;)
In my 24-hour day I enjoy:
30 dirty diapers
14 bottles of milk
9 breathing treatments
6 times a pumping
4 hours of sleep
3 wonderful children
2 nebulizers
And a husband getting sick!

Sounds fun huh:)

It's been a few days.

Things have been going pretty well. Noa is still fussy. The medicine has been helping but she still fusses and arches her back like her stomach is hurting. Elijah is a little fussy when he eats but nothing compared to Noa.
We made it to church this morning. The twins are off schedule right now. Elijah must be having a growth spurt because he eats like crazy every 3 hours like clock work!! Noa is eating almost half of what Elijah is. He's going to catch up to her!!! Last night jay and I each had a baby to feed. They were on different schedules. And right now if noa is sleeping I don't want to wake her. Anyway Noa ate at midnight then didn't eat again until 5am. Elijah was up every 3 hours jay said. Jay had Elijah and I had noa!! Worked out well for me!! ;)
We took them to youth tonight. And Isaac. Of course everyone loved them.

One more thought for the day...

I was thinking today... How did I have one child with no problems first. And now I have two at once with acid reflux or something that is making them so unhappy. Not sure who thought that was a grand idea... We are figuring it out though!!

Hump day.

I took Isaac to the doctor this morning. It seems that it is just his allergies. So that's good to know. At least it isn't anything the twins can get. Kim came over this morning to watch the twins while I took Isaac to the doctor. It was a nice outing for the two of us. Our doctor gave Noa some medicine to help with her fussing. If it's acid reflux then this will help. If it's colic then nothing helps:( but I gave it to her at 3 and she has (so far) only fussed when she was hungry. She passed out after I gave it to her!! Hopefully she will sleep good tonight.

Fussy Girl

So we are trying to figure out what is wrong with Noa.  She is so fussy.  We are not sure if it is colic or acid reflux.  Something is going on though!  She just cries all the time.  Well not all the time.  I have been able to get all three of them to take a nap at the same time.  So that has given me a little time to get something done!  Jay finally just got her to sleep or at least quiet.  Isaac is sick:(  He has been saying all day, "I'm sick, need to go to doctor" :( I will probably try to take him tomorrow.
Well I'm watching Lost now we will see if I make it through this epidoes.

I did it!!

My saying all day was "I can do it!". Today I was by myself all day with all 3 kids. And I did it! I didn't even cry!! Came close but made it through. Isaac was great. The twins were very fussy all morning. There was not a minute that I wasn't trying to calm one down. I'm trying to figure out their eating schedule. I talked to their doctor today and she said feed them whenever they are hungry as much as they want. I feel like if I do that I'm feeding all day. And I was today! So I'm trying to find a happy medium. I have decided that bottle feeding (my breastmilk) is better for me during the day. It's a lot easier to drop a bottle if Isaac screams than stop nursing. I'm just trying to figure it all out!!!
I wanted to get to the store all day. Yes with all three. There is probably a reson it didn't work out! I was planning on going after the 9 am feeding. By 11 I was trying to Isaac dressed and realized it wasn't going to happen. Especially if I wanted Isaac to nap at home and not in the car. So I just waited until jay got home and Isaac and I went.
Today was our anniversary. We didn't do anything special but had a nice night!! Seven years. Crazy to think about. Who would have thought 7 years ago we would have three kids now!!

Sunday

We made to church this morning. Isaac stayed home with grandma. He isn't feeling good:( so jay and I took the twins. All the new providence babies were there. Photo below! It was great to see them all together. Jay's mom left. The end of our live in nanny.
When they left it was constant with the twins. They were very fussy. My dad was coming over he was just running late. When he got here he took Isaac to the store. I fed the twins and still couldn't get them calm. Then I gave them both bottles. My dad and Isaac got back. I got isaac ready for bed. And finally got the twins down! Then got to enjoy my dads dinner.

Thursday

I had a big outing today with the twins. Jay's mom stayed home with Isaac while I went to my 6 week check up with the twins. I left at 9:30 and didn't return until 3:30!! I asked Chris if she thought I had abandoned her! Ha. After my appt which went great! I met two friends from CMT at Panera and they helped me feed babies while we all had lunch and caught up! It was great I saw several people from CMT who were coming in Panera for lunch. After we got the babies fed I loaded them up and headed to target. I had needed to make a target run for days so I finally decided that I would just go ahead and go. The hardest part was trying to carry two boxes of diapers while pushing a double stroller. When I got home Jay was pulling in from work at the same time I was getting back. Isaac had a great day with grandma!! It's great for him to get some one on one time!!

Saturday

Today was Jay's birthday. We had a nice day. His mom is still in town. We went over to my sisters for a birthday lunch. They all had the crud so we all kept our distance. We had a nice lunch over there and headed back home. Isaac wouldn't take a nap when we got back but he did lay in bed with jay for several hours while jay napped. The twins got to go on a walk with grandma.
I asked my parents to come over and help Chris (Jay's mom) with the babies so I could take jay out for his birthday. We figured a 1:1 ratio - grandparent to child was pretty good!! So we got to get out for a couple of hours. This was my second night out in a row!!! I went out last night with some girl friends. Had a great time!! So good to get out!!
When we got back Noa had been up and fussing the whole time we were gone. What are we going to do with her??? I'm rocking her now. We just fed them. I think she is back asleep. I think Elijah is wide awake though. Of course!!

Wednesday

Jay's mom came in today from PA. Isaac was in school. I loaded up the twins and we went to pick her up. I was actually late because the twins were both asleep and I was enjoying a little peace and quiet! We were able to meet Jay for lunch. Then we went to pick Isaac up from school. Jay's mom made us dinner. Its great having her around!!

The Twins

Ok so I think I'm off on my days. 40 days of keeping up is pretty good!! I'm going to still update and try to update daily. But I'm tired of counting the days;)
Yesterday was good. My sister came over early and helped which was great. Then Jennie came over for a little bit too. So I got a shower and some dishes done.
I've been trying to watch Lost but it's just not happening. I keep falling asleep every night during it. Last night I saw most of last weeks episode but fell asleep before the new episode even came on.
Jay and I did the 9:00 feeding then both fell asleep on the couch with the babies:) then we woke up at midnight and fed them and got them in bed!!
They slept until 6 this morning. It was nice to get 5 hrs of sleep at once!! Of course Isaac woke us all up! I had a great morning. Everything went well and the babies were good all morning. I was actually late to pick up jay's mom from the airport because I was enjoying a little peace and quiet!!
So jay's mom got in town today. She is staying through Sunday. She will be a big help!! We had lunch with jay. It's been a great day!!

The Twins: Day 41

This morning was hard!! The babies were crying constantly and I didn't know what they wanted. Isaac was getting into everything because I couldn't pay him much attention because I was having to give all my attention to the babies. I finally got them to sleep and my sister got here to help. The rest of the day they did great. I got a nap in.
